Odoo is introducing new features and focusing on performance with version 16 to ensure maximum performance and significance in its field. The new version's primary goal is to improve the performance rather than simply update it from the previous version. Odoo 16 is the fastest, most user-friendly, and most advanced version of its forebears. This is one of the changes in Odoo community apps for the community edition users.

New Module and Other Significant Changes

Odoo community applications are well-known for their highly integrated and simple-to-use modules, which serve as the foundation of the entire Odoo database. This is one of the critical factors that contribute to the usability. The existing modules will have a significant number of new features and tools integrated into them to improve workflow and efficiency. We have introduced new modules and components in an updated and enhanced form for its community edition users.


Module of Knowledge

The knowledge module is the most recent addition. The module, like the rest of the Odoo community edition applications, is highly integrated and functions more like a knowledge center to share knowledge among employees and administrators. The module was inspired by Wikipedia. You can create and share articles in the Knowledge module within the organization, most of which are related to work, in order to maintain proper communication within the organization.


Website Builder
We are offering the integration of the website's back-end and front-end, allowing for more customization and control over building blocks, page elements, and so on. It will improve the user experience of creating a website and make it easier for Odoo community users to develop and manage their websites.


Odoo POS, eCommerce, and Sales E-wallet, Coupons, and Promotions

Coupons and promotions will be consolidated, and users will be able to access them through POS, eCommerce, and sales orders.

Coupons and promotions were previously considered separate functional features in Odoo community mobile apps, which contradicts with their use in the coupon management process.

Enhancements to Chatbots
To better serve customers, the Chatbot in Odoo 16 community mobile apps will include multiple questions and a decision tree.

Marketing Enhancements

The email marketing module has been enhanced with new features such as:
Continuing where you left off with the email
Change the global properties of all emails at once
Filters are saved to be reloaded later.
Copy or paste the email address into the database to import contacts.
New email templates
Users will be able to retweet and quote from the social marketing dashboard.

Inventory Improvements
More tools and features will be added to the inventory module to improve its efficiency and management.
There will be a force back-order feature that will allow users to choose whether to request a backorder in the operation type, reducing confusion in the order management process.

Support for Zip Codes and Local Shipping Methods
Improved shipping method postcode filter.
In order confirmation emails, include text with specific shipping/pickup instructions.

Batches that are automated
Depending on the operation type, batches will be generated. Group Transfers contact, carrier, destination country, or source/destination location automatically. The batch size can be limited per move line, transfer, or weight.
Replenishment visibility days will eliminate the visibility issue we had when planning the replenishment. The "Visibility Days" field will be added, which will function similarly to the "days to purchase" setting but at the replenishment line level.

Purchase App Upgrades
Tenders can now be requested on the go, and alternatives to the original RFQ can be generated.

MRP Module
Manufacturing orders can now be split and merged.
The allocation report is now in production; if a link is added to the sales order, customers can view the status of their manufacturing order in the customer portal at any time.
Subcontracting allows the subcontractor to track production.
Manufacturing worksheets will be available in the MRP module (similar to field service) to assist users in completing operations, steps, and quality checks.
Manufacturing planning and scheduling will assist you in defining a sequence for your operations—which manufacturing orders must be fulfilled sequentially and which should run concurrently.

Appointment Scheduler
The Appointment app will have more visibility due to the improved backend, frontend, and onboarding features.
